Red Butte Gardens Concerts

posted 1 year ago

This summer, much of my time will be spent at Red Butte Gardens for many of the artists lined up to perform.  Tonight, Kenny Wayne Shepherd performed, that is until they ended early due to lighting storms coming across the valley - such beauty to watch.

Rose of course was my model for the evening as you can tell she is in many of the photos; it was her first time up there, she did very well making the hot short climb and small rocky walk to a great viewing area.  Even though there were a few dogs around us she stayed calm, just hid behind me a lot.

There is one dog who refused to leave me alone and tried once to befriend Rose, but Rose was not into that.  Nesta, the German Shepherd found instant love with me, perhaps its because I was tossing PUP CORN® treats for her.  She would come right up to my left side and sometimes put her wet nose to my shoulder for another treat, this went on for the couple hours we were there.  Nesta’s owners on the other hand were getting annoyed that she kept coming to me and that I kept tossing her PUP CORN®.  They would say, “Nesta, NO!”  And then I said, “She may know what that word means, but I don’t.”  That is when I truly knew they were annoyed, so I stopped giving her treats, well…ok, I threw two more for her but hoped her owners didn’t notice. ;)

As you can tell from the photos, a storm was working its way across the valley; it started to reach the Gardens and because the beautiful, magnificent lighting storm was ahead of the rain, they stopped the concert and stressed that everyone should leave for our safety.  Still tons of fun.
